Here’s a sneak preview of one of Alabama’s most anticipated new restaurants, Bow & Arrow
“Iron Chef Showdown” champion and James Beard Award semifinalist David Bancroft of Acre restaurant in Auburn is just days away from opening his long-awaited second restaurant, Bow & Arrow. The Texas-style smokehouse is inspired, in part, by Bancroft’s childhood growing up in the Lone Star State, but Bancroft also tips his hat to the down-home dishes he remembers from his visits to his grandparents’ farm in South Alabama. “It’s like Texas and Alabama,” Bancroft says. “But none of it is forced. It’s not a fusion.” Here’s what guest can expect to find when Bancroft opens the doors to Bow & Arrow this coming Wednesday, Nov. 7.
The Bow & Arrow menu features brisket, pork shoulder, smoked sausage, chicken and ribs, along with such sides as potato salad, coleslaw, creamed corn, camp beans, butterbeans and a tater-tot casserole. Guests will go through a service line, where butchers cut their meats to order. “It’s like the fanciest, high-end cafeteria service line that you’re ever going to see,” Bancroft says. “We wasted no expense whatsoever.”
